Quick note about the collar.

This has come up a few times recently.

If I have a collar on, please don’t touch it unless you put it there. Ok, you can ask to touch it, see the hinging mechanism, the fastner, etc… But don’t just reach out and touch my collar. It really really bugs me.

I’m not accusing anyone, just being preemptive. Thank you.

And this ends our public service announcement. *beep*

    Ooooh

Sounds like you purchased a collar like mine.
Its brushed stainless steel and when its closed you can barely see the hinge and closure. I love it. Though I don’t wear it myself, I am tempted to sometimes because its so freaking cool.

Yes I have the second one down from the top, with the Verschluss “Klick” locking mechanism pictured at the very bottom of the page.

Yours is more tribal looking, and also far more delicate. I like it.

A good general rule. I didn’t know that and inadvertently bugged someone who was “wearing” a collar. Now I know to ask if I want to see it because it is somehow neat and too keep hands off otherwise.

Probably because people see the collar and think “If she’ll wear the collar, she’ll submit to anyone”.

Average (I was going to write “normal”, but…) people tend not to make the difference between “submissive” and “submissive to…”. Or they think of the collar as a piece of jewelry, and are people who wouldn’t think of putting their hands on a necklace or something that’s especially pretty to them.

I was right – the collar looks like a piece of jewelry, and I know a number of people, if they see a neat looking necklace, think nothing of touching it, to get a closer look.

Also, I think of “collar” as being tighter around the neck, like a classic “choker”, and not what you had on.

Someone said “tribal” – I think you could describe it as “art deco” just as easily…

Of course, it is still very rude to touch without permission, but that’s just insight as to why people might be being very rude…

No matter what I have on it is never appropriate for someone to touch me without permission. Period. Of course this gets muddled because several people “blanket” permission to touch me–but even they don’t get to futz with my collar. It is so confusing.

But random people should never touch other random people. It is just flat wrong.

vehement agreement. ack. while there are randoms who have touched me who didn’t wig me out, the vast majority have.

That makes me so fucking mad when people do it. I just want to bite their heads off. It’s such a basic rule of etiquette – I thought. But apparently not…Grrr.
And I pity the fool who touches yours without permission, doll. I’d buy a ticket to see that dressing-down…;>
