   I’d support that statement. Unless it’s at a party where you didn’t arrive together and don’t leave together. Then it’s a scene, or maybe just sex. (Not that sex is ever “just” anything…)

   It’s a cute quote, but I disagree. If there was no prior plan, it’s not a date. One particular experience didn’t involve ass-fucking, but it did involve using my entire supply of condoms, and it was certainly not a “date”. Running into someone you didn’t even realize was at Faire at 11pm and ending up sharing a tent and much else besides is a really, really good evening, but it’s not a date. A date would have been planned over dinner that evening, or earlier.
