Lenora is a big slut. She resides in the bay area and is active in the local scene there. She discovered the scene four years ago and dove into the deep end head first. Bondage, along with D/s has always been her primary focus. She is a firm believer in scenes wherein, “Bondage is the point” and is eager to show others that bdsm does not always have to include hitting. She is a member of the Society of Janus and the Portland Leather Alliance. She has co-taught classes on bondage and suspension for Dragons Keep, Society of Janus, and Thunder in the Mountains.
(I would like to point out that I think it is marginally dishonest for me to claim Thunder because my name has never been in the program. However, Tom says that I should put it because I was helping teach the class. Any opinions?)
…and dove into the deep end head first
I think that sounds pretensious. Otherwise, I think it sounds good.
*grin* Well, four years of experience isn’t much for teaching classes. I’m still a newbie. I am trying to sound as if, no really! I do have experience!!!
Also: As far as pretentious goes–go read bios for some of the big conferences. They are funnier than hell. When reading them you expect the presenter to have an ego the size of Alaska, and then you find out they are just nice normal people. You need some sort of hype in a bio. Which is why I haven’t wanted to write this and I have procrastinated so long. I feel stupid.
pretentious kinky people is one of my pet peeves and is the major reason I am NOT more involved in the scene, so you should probably ignore me. I’ve read some bios like that and they always manage to piss me off. Yours was very mild on that front by comparison and it was only really the one line that jumped out at me. So. Yeah.
Okay, that’s just bizarre. On my friends page currently, I have the bio of followed immediately by your bio. It’s not like these things come across my friends list every month, even!
It’s a day to declare oneself.
Lets see who else follows the lead…
I think the deep end is good, you’re right, you have to make it clear just cause you look young and sweet you didn’t just fall off that kink truck. 😉
Question is, how long can you tread water ? 😉
I want to see a little bit of your personality in this, it’s a bit dry. It’s informative, and qualifying, but I know you’re cuter then that.
I’m nervous about the crack that bdsm doesn’t have to include hitting. Won’t that alienate people?
I actually found that line very refreshing. If everyone thought the same thing it would be boring… your purpose is to broaden people’s concepts and experience, right? So telling them you have an interest in doing that right off makes a lot of sense to me. The people who will be alienated by the line are probably the people who won’t want to learn what you have to teach in the first place.
*No…that crack will be helpful…*
I like the second half – the start is a little rough.
*Umm…for this crowd…*I might leave out the big slut part…*
I’m thinking of another way to say it…*
Bi-Poly-Switch? That sums it up while still sounding terribly official.
copy-editing suggestions
Maybe leave out the “is a big slut” part.
Further down:
change to “Bondage and D/s have always been her primary interests” (unless you want to be really pretentious and say “primary foci”).
change to “She is a firm believer in scenes where bondage is the point of the scene”.
