I just turned someone down for a date. His response:
“I’m sorry, but not surprised, to hear that you are busy. I realize it is kind of the last minute, but I thought I’d give it a shot before everyone was wrapped uo in the holidays. I won’t make the offer explicitly again but you have a rain check. Just let me know when you’d like to cash it.”
Nothing pushy or whiny or guilt tripping in that.
If I ever have spare time, he is so getting a call.
Seems like a good way to handle that situation. I’ll have to take a page out of his book in this regard…
That rocks!
I love wonderful men.
Rock on. 🙂
Snag that boy! Being a guy myself, I know that those are rare.
Wow. That’s so smooth, it’s scary. Go him!
I’m just trying to imagine you with spare time…..
*grin*
I am sitting at home alone right now. I am supposed to go to a party soon.
I may not be sober enough.
hmmmmm….. if your not sure, get a ride. You might be sober enough to to do anything remarkably stupid but if someone else does your response time will be slowed… but you know that.
I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I will not be driving tonight. Have no fear on that account.
So how come that never worked for me?
You never responded like that. You always wanted to know when the next time would be. Or you made me feel guilty for not seeing you sooner.
I didn’t respond to you like that because you said yes the first time.
nobody can MAKE you feel guilty… 😉
*smack*
Do I get to pick the location for that?
As long as it is somewhere on *your* body that will hurt you more than me. (no elbows or somethng that make my hand hurt.)
No, but they can try. And that’s annoying enough in itself.
