OTOH, seriously, can you imagine SAYING “multiamory,” or “polyphilia”? Personally, The first isn’t TOO bad I suppose, though it lacks grace, and the second, IMNSHO, sounds like a conference of folks talking about other reasons to like Philadelphia beside cream cheese and cheese-steaks.
Actually, the person who coined the word was aware that she was mixing Greek and Latin, and did so for exactly this reason – it was a much better word than the Greek-only or Latin-only options. I completely agree with her, it was the right choice.
