The SF Superior Court ruled that that the state’s exclusion of same-sex couples from civil marriage is unconstitutional.

Take Action Tonight in Your Local Community to Celebrate this Historic Marriage Decision!

The following Equality California chapters and allied organizations are hosting a community celebration in support of today’s historic ruling in support of marriage equality.

If your area isn’t hosting something formal, throw your own party!!

            I won’t be going. Heh.

            I will be participating in a metal bondage class and then going to dance at a goth club.

      It doesn’t go to the federal courts. It’s a state-law issue. It goes to the California Supreme Court, and then *maybe* the US Supreme Court if SCOTUS chooses to grant certiorari (i.e. takes up an appeal from the CA Supreme Court’s decision).

      I’m so cheesed I missed this news last night.

    Sweet! Too bad I didn’t see the announcement before I hopped on the ferry. City hall wouldn’t have been that far, I think…

    In other news, Ontario just amended the definition for spouse. They have systematically struck out “husband”, “wife”, “opposite-sex partner” and “same-sex partner” from all provincial legislation and redefined “spouse” instead. It’s a big step, if you ask me.
