Yes but what if you have to pass a group of 10 vehicals including a few trucks that are insisting on driving the speed limit when there isn’t a single cop for miles?

*oops, was that my outside voice?*

While I certainly can’t claim to abide by the speed limit, I think it is a bit arrogant to presume that everyone on the road has to drive as fast as me. People should stay out of the left lane regardless of speed, absolutely true. Yes, sometimes you stay in the left lane a bit longer because you’re passing multiple cars/trucks/semi-comatose elderly Winnebagos. However, choosing to drive faster than the limit means you’re making your own way, and you’re going to have to expect people to be going slower than you. Nothing pisses me off as much as driving 75-80 and having someone run up my ass like I’m doing 45, demanding I get out of their way.

I saw nothing in the article implying that anyone has to drive as fast as you.

I constantly look into my mirror to check on traffic behind me. If someone is approaching me rapidly I move right, even if I am consistently passing people. The law says that slower traffic should stay right and slower is relative. When that car is flying up my tail I just became the slower traffic who should stay right. Tucking in between two cars and letting him pass won’t slow me down enough to put myself in the very dangerous position of forcing someone to slam on their brakes.
