Yep. when they changed servers they changed IP addresses, and they got classified as “spam” by the various major email providers, which generated a lot of bounced messages. Which got sent back to the LJ mail server. Which then had an episode, as it was storing them to try again later, but every time they did it managed to bounce it back. This basically overloaded the mail server AND its storage database, and it cried “Mommy!” and kind of choked up.
Now they’ve gotten it mostly taken care of, and it’s catching up on the backlog.
The server move–you’ve heard already.
I’m kind of confused by all the people who are getting pissed off about it; I would far rather get notification late than to have the notfication never arrive, which at first was what I was afraid would happen.
yup
<aol>me, too!</aol>

Nope.
But, before today I hadn’t posted anything for about a week.
I _have_ noticed that there have been a lot of “sorry try again later” pages today, so they’re having some sort of technical issues.
*yes…and it’s flipping pissing me off!

Yup. My favorites were from people responding about events that have long since past.
Grrr.
everyone is. My best so far is one that was posted 18 days ago and just showed up in my inbox late last night.
