What the freak!

I had a parent/teacher conference yesterday and the parent made the comment, “My fifth grader could pass this class–I don’t understand why he is having problems.” Hey! That’s not nice! I don’t think a fifth grader could pass the last vocab test.

    11. respect (was trying to make a variation on precedence work, but got impatient)

    11. resepct (not a very good synonym, but there aren’t any I can think of which fit without rewriting the rest of the sentence, at least a bit.)

    16. when attempting to maintain confidentiality about someone else. was not easier, but “necessary” is subject to interpretation.
    17. yes. no comment. (But I do know that a “qualm” is a sort of instinctive reaction against something.)
    18. yes. I showed them embackery. Not really, though for some effrontery, mooning *is* the correct response.

      I *might* have been able to pass that test in 5th grade, depending on what a passing grade was. But I could probably spell all those vocabulary words correctly.

    18. Yes, and depends. I either effront back, laugh, or ignore it. (I can think of some little girls with errant tongues recently…)
    19. Daft. Hm.. no, not really. I mean, not as a matter of course. I think we’re all vacant, stunned, or stupid periodically.
    20. Just last night in email with a particular tribe moderator. I said that if he’s going to remove my posts, he should change his tribe description to omit the word “uncensored”.

    15: I am incredibly unskilled at drawing. I suppose I could take classes.
    16: When one is poly and flirting with someone new, it’s necessary at times to elude questions about relationships at first to make a good first impression, then bring up the downside once they like you. It’s just easier; those that would take it badly would take it badly early or later.
    17: I have doubts in my professionalism at work at times, when I am waiting for installations to finish I frequently surf the net instead of finding something productive to do.
    18: Yes, and that’s when I tied their other hand to the cross and whipped them until they begged me to stop. That’s what they get for challenging me.
    19. This girl named Catey. Incredibly naive and distractable by anything shiny, she frequently gives an impression of airheadedness.

    15. I am inept at most video games. Practice might make me better, but I don’t care very much.
    16. I need to be evasive if I’ve promised to keep a secret and I’m being asked things that might lead me to reveal it. It’s necessary, and not usually easy.

    19. There is a soccer player I know who is quite daft, but if you meet her mother, it’s clearly a case of the fruit falling close to the tree. Both of them seem to lack common sense.
    20. I try to reproach people in a polite manner for behaviors I find lacking in human decency, such as degrading others for their sexuality.
