mmmm memeage (aka holiday wishlist)

cortneyofeden posted this (maybe I’ll fix the lj link when I get home on my computer and maybe not) and I am wanting a break from grading so here I go.

Step One
– Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered…whatever you’re comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related (“I’d love a Snape/Hermione icon that’s just for me”) to medium (“I wish for _____ on DVD”) to really big (“All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.”) The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
– If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it’s your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
– Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it’ll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
– Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here’s the important part:
– If you see a wish you can grant, and it’s in your heart to do so, make someone’s wish come true. Sometimes someone’s trash is another’s treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don’t want or a gift certificate you won’t use–or even know where you could get someone’s dream purebred Basset Hound for free–do it.
You needn’t spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn’t to put people out; it’s to provide everyone a chance to be someone else’s holiday elf–to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not–it’s your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just…wish and it might come true. Give and you might receive. And you’ll have the joy of knowing you made someone’s holiday special.

If you have done this, please leave a comment here with the link! That way I can surf around and see whose wishes I might be able to fulfill. (Yes, I’m adding the ones I see to my memories if they’re not already linked to in this post.)

Despite Cortney being all altruistic and stuff I’m not quite so much so. 🙂 Materialism baby.
1. Socks!! Specifically knee socks of neato colors/patterns/stripes. I’m becoming semi-famous for my knee socks and I am wearing them out quickly and I really love them. If I don’t get them for Christmas I am going on a shopping spree in January. 🙂
2. Ask me to spend some time with you on a small scale. Parties are great and all, but I’m not much in that headspace.
3. Commit to spending a day helping me paint my house this summer. I know that it is a far off commitment, but I’m terrified of trying to do most of it on my own.
4. Write me/find me neato erotica or porn. Mmmmm porn. (If you want pointers on this one ask privately. 😉
5. Offer to bring me/come have dinner with me some night when I am working late at school. I have internet access available for you to borrow, and I can steal a bean bag from another teacher so you don’t have to sit in a desk. A lot of the stuff I have to do doesn’t require my full concentration and I get lonely.
6. Soft sweaters. I love really soft sweaters. I probably wear a medium to a large depending on how big the size tends to run. My prefered colors: pink, red, black. 🙂
7. Offer to grade a set of vocabulary tests for me. 😀 (Could easily be combined with #5 for EXTRA brownie points!)
8. Come over and bring a movie you want to show me. Not stupid comedy or generic anime. Show me something that really amazed/touched/moved you. This should be accompanied with snuggles on the couch.
9. Silly/fun bumper stickers that I can put on my wall at work. (No profanity or outright sexual references unfortunately.)
10. Offer to brush my hair. Be aware that I have lots of tangles and a wussy head, but when it is done gently it is the best.

Now I must continue grading. 🙂

Wow.If I can hammer my schedule into behaving, there are a handful of these that I not only can but would like to fulfill. (: I’d thought you were really busy and so hadn’t asked to spend time with you.

“Really busy” is a relative thing. I work a lot and my schedule is somewhat unpredictable. However, I haven’t been doing much lately. I had as much social contact last week (I’ve noticed a serious under-socialization lately) as I’ve had in the past month. Yeah, and I wasn’t *that* social.

The main problem is that I have to be in bed at 8 basically every night. 🙁 It makes socializing hard. Oh, and that I am semi-regularly at work until 7.

I know that feeling. (: Maybe some Sunday or Monday night stuff? Those are my days off, and I don’t think I’m going to get any overlap with you on work days.

Ditto. Prolly be January before I can book much, though. Traffic on week nights sucks. And my weekends are kinda screwed from here on out to the end of the year.

I would love to get with you on 2, 8, or 10, with an option for maybe on 3.

and if I have any sweaters, well they usually go to the clothes swap, but I do have a nice burgundy tab-neck you’d probably look great in…

I LOVE to grade vocabulary tests, spelling tests, and really anything other than essays or open-answer tests where I have to critique or use a rubric. Busywork is me. I’m not entirely convenient to you, though… could we get ’em turned around in the mail in enough time, do ya think?

I was going to make the same offer as Voyeur Princess. So, consider it made ‘coz it would be fun and I have lots of time right now. (And I make good coffee, too.)

      Well…

I like lots of different kinds of porn. I am mostly into forced sex and heavy sm stuff in my porn. I think that it isn’t hot if someone isn’t crying. 🙂 (And I’m not into boy bottoms.)

and, #4. seems like we have a wish in common.

      Re: I’m gonna do it!

Right this minute probably the best and niftiest would be bumper stickers and help painting the house. 🙂 I won’t get very many takers on the house painting and boy howdy do I want help!
