The sweetest words ever spoken

“You have an infection and a local anesthesia wouldn’t be able to penetrate it.”

My oral surgery is rescheduled and I will be completely asleep. Halle-fucking-llujah God is kind.

That’s great, didn’t know you were having oral surgery. Remember, I can be a bit of a geek in this arena. I might call you for grammar support, but I know bleeding and dry socket! 😉

And do take a little time off and plan for someone to baby you post surgery, even if you do get to sleep through it.

I have a crack in the root of a tooth which was root canaled 15 years ago. Not so thrilling.

Oh, my Noah likes babying me. 🙂

There are dentists that cater to those of us who are a bit phobic about dental pain. I’ve had all of my most recent dental work any more complicated than cleanings done with either nitrous or triazzolam (one of the memory-inhibiting general anasthesias).

It’s commonly called “sedation dentistry”. It is *awesome*.

The only time I’ve ever been knocked out was for wisdom tooth removal… the ONLY way to fly!

Good luck and may your recovery be swift and uneventful. I’d like to second the pp who said get help post-op… you won’t be much good for anything besides smoothie slurping and maybe a little TV.

I had all four wisdom teeth removed at once a few years ago and promptly got dry socket in all four teeth.

Oh yeah, I’ll be sitting on my ass. I remember the drill well.
