It’s bad.

Some people are aware that I have back problems, but I generally try not to whine too much about the situation. Today I don’t want to whine, I want to lie on the floor and sob. It hurts. It hurts so much I keep seeing flashes of white light through my field of vision. I keep having low level spasms. My kids don’t really seem to notice and that is for the best.

But I notice. And I’m taking enough Ibuprofen to make my stomach hurt. Tonight, Vicodin even though it will make me want to throw up. That feeling is better than this pain.

I will plan to bring Massage cream and to work on her unless I hear differently. I will also make time for her tonight or tomorrow if she wants me to. I know how debilitating a bad back can be.

When did you want to get there? So that I can leave work early to meet you in I need to. And you have mentioned it, but I think it was during the last massage I gave you…

This is about *your* convenience honey. Whenever works best to you. It is best if I am not there much past 9 because I need sleep, but if that means arriving at 8 that is what it means. 🙂

Good. It will give the time I may need to work on your back. Let’s say 5. I will have the room ready. I will get you fixed up.

I highly recommend it. It sounds like you’re having some of the same symptoms I was the day Richard Simmons almost killed me. (Major neck crick, pinwheels, light flashes, part of my body went numb, followed by stabbing neck pain and vomiting from shock.) Chiropractic care was what kept me out of the *hospital*.

I’d say do it as soon as you can.

Dr. Bill Bowers in Berkeley is a scene-friendly and very skilled chiropractor who integrates massage into his practice. Tell him I sent you.

You know, my father does massage and has been doing so since I was a baby. He’s really, really good at it. He’s in Berkely. I’m not sure how far that is from you.
Actually about half the time he’s in Berkely. He’s been in Mexico a great deal lately cause his ladylove is living there.
        Would you like an intro?

I’m sorry for you, friend. If it’s any consolation, I have the experience, too. I was in a car accident and dislocated my pelvis. For years, I had very bad back and body pain.

Take care and do whatever you feel to take care of yourself,

As much as I worship Noah–and don’t get me wrong, I do–he doesn’t do really deep tissue stuff and that seems to be what helps my lower back.

I didn’t know. I’m sorry lady. Is the pain constant or is it just that it’s bad once in a while?
I mention it cause I’ve had my own issues and the first thing that started to turn it around was to take ibuprofen on a schedule 3 times a day. 400 mg or more every 8 hours. Before I would just take it when it was bad and it was never as effective as taking less regularly.
I’m also seeing an acupunturist who is giving me herbs and they seem to be helping as well. The acupuncture helps too but probably would help more if I could do it more often.
Beyond that heat helps, heating pads and hot baths, and the vibrating thing I got in my chair and stretching and yoga and sleeping. And red wine too, but not to much.
And love. And getting my back popped by Tammus which requires him walking on it.

Also I take magnesium, calcium and vitamin D and a multivitamin. I’m under the impression it helps.

In a crisis though, heat and sleep are the most effective.

I hope you get what you need hon.
If you were near I’d do what I could to help.

I have low-level pain most of the time. Sometimes it flairs up and is OHMYFUCKINGGOD painful. I have been sleeping with a heating pad and sitting in hot water. I need to start taking more vitamins.

I hope you feel better soon.
I’ve got a Gnormous post on vitamin D you may want to look at.

It is huge though, and rest is important too.
It’s just some research that I collected a while back.
Come to think of it I’ve been slacking on my vitamin intake, I should get back to taking more too.
It does sound like you can use some regular massage and adjustments though. I’m able to put my back into alignment most of the time, either by myself or with Tammus’ help. But that’s cause I slip in and out so easily. You may need some help with that.
Moreover you deserve care and healing.
        Blessings on you.

Back pain is a Son of a Bitch. I have a messed up back from a fight with my sister when I was 12 – odd neck stuff and lower back issues. I know how it’s easy to hide it and just not talk about until it shoves you on your ass. I’m so glad Mr. KBgilmore is coming to the rescue.
