    There’s a *huge* difference between apologizing for who you are and apologizing for what you do — or, more exactly, what you’ve done.

    If you’ve *done* something thoughtless or hurtful, then apologizing for it (and, of course, endeavoring not to do it again) is the right thing to do.

    But you have no need to apologize for who you are. Who you are is who you are, and that’s nothing to apologize for.
