I had a prof who gladly took any assignment at any time. He also made it clear that late assignments would lose one grade point per day. So if you wanted to turn something in a week late, you were welcome to, but he made it very clear that if the assignment was already getting an F because it was late, he wasn’t going to look at it, so we might as well keep it. We were, however, welcome to turn it in if we so chose.

I have no idea if that would work for your situation, but it was a great way for him to short-circuit any whining about not taking late work.

This is 17 days later. This parent has been a problem for a number of teachers. She is a principal and I wonder how she does at that.

Um, no wonder why this kid thinks its okay to turn in late work…his/her mother seems to believe that there aren’t any consequences for actions…I am sorry!

And it’s my fault he is failing. It’s because I got sick. It isn’t because he didn’t turn in assignments before then.
