A friend is getting to the point where she is ready to admit she has some issues. (About time.) She is not poly, kinky, queer, or anything else I would consider all that interesting or limiting in finding a good therapist. heh. She’s a very straight, sorority girl type with a lot of anxiety issues. Does anyone know of a therapist they like/respect in Palo Alto? She is afraid of driving too far, so as close to there as possible would be great.
I realize my description of her doesn’t sound too flattering, I do actually like her a lot and I’ve known her all my life. She puts up with me so you know she is open minded. 🙂
Not in Palo Alto, sadly. I quite like my therapist in San Jose (just south of 280 off the Saratoga Ave. exit), and she’s been great at helping me with my anxiety, it’s roots, etc, she’s also got a specialty in the adult children of (alcoholics or fill in your fave sort of dysfunctional family). But she’s way too far to work for your friend, I expect.
Debra Burgard, on Camino just north of Rengstorff. She happens to be gay, but does not make a career of it or anything. She is extremely smart and down to earth.
I’ve been very happy with the person I’ve been seeing for about 2mos now. She’s in PA, on Middlefield a little bit down from University Ave. I chose her because she has background in dealing with Asperger’s, but she isn’t limited to that. And if she doesn’t have an opening, I would trust her to recommend. Email me, and I’ll get you the info…
