I hope to god not! Being a supermodel or being judged on good looks is horrible for self confidence. If shes lucky, people wont say oh what a pretty baby/girl/person too often.

It’s oh, so helpful of you to dissect a simple compliment and analyze it for political correctness. You must be a real joy to spend time with…do you provide this service for everyone all the time, or did I just get lucky?

Yeah… not squished. That’s it. Most newborns I have seen look super wrinkly red for a few weeks or so. She looks like she came out without red splotches or squishes or wrinkles. Just pure baby.

    Very cute indeed.

Many babies born into this world are futt-buck ugly. Yours was not.

She is absolutely precious and I mean that with absolute sincerity!!

Ditto on the lack of squishiness. I just want to kiss those cheeks.

Except not now. Because I am sick. Probably from kissing another (sick) baby. I’d say lesson learned, but it probably isn’t…

Wow, she’s stunning — no cone head or anything, like a cesarean baby. And she looks very “finished,” not like a newborn at all. That must have been one hell of a delivery. You done good! Many many congratulations to you and Noah and Shanna.

Given that she spent more than 3 1/2 hours in the birth canal I’m *shocked* at how round her head is. It doesn’t seem possible.

Oh my goodness, she is pretty!

And that’s rare! I usually think newborns are pretty funny looking, but that is one gorgeous little girl!

She’s PERFECT! Honestly, she is gorgeous and looks much older and settled in than a newborn.

You are a lizard makin’ mama!!! And you’re GOOD at it! 😉

I have to echo what others have already said — she doesn’t have the look most newborns have. Her head is a beautifully rounded shape and her skin is a lovely color – without the “ohmygod, what just happened to me” redness newborns often have.

And those, my dear, are definitely sleeping angel pictures. I loved watching my babies while they slept.

*boggles* That is NOT a three day old baby! OMG! Are you sure about your dates? I think you might have over-cooked her by about 3 MONTHS! She’s just SPECTACULAR. Fine work, m’dear. Soooooooo precious.

She looks like you, I think. She has a great ski jump nose, and I can imagine her older- like a magical spirit being or something. Very cool. Don’t tell, but she is much cuter than my sisters recent baby- but maybe you’ve got yourself a better photographer than the ones at sears who stick the baby on carpet and expect it to not be dubious of the strange, loud place. 🙂

I bet she is having a great baby dream. If you need a sitter… 🙂 I’m such a sucker for children- its like every baby I see is a relative.

She’s lovely. I am so happy for all three of you. I would love to meet her, but know how crazy this time is. So please let me know when a time works for you and I will be there on time and will stay only as long as you are comfortable with. Please let me know if I can bring a meal or help out in some way.

    Oh, wow. She is gorgeous.

Was it just the strangest feeling, when you finally met her? Like, “oh, so that’s who you are!” To see a person come out of your body and open their eyes and look at you… beyond description.

I am so glad that you had such a wonderful experience. It sounds like you handled a rough ride with an incredibly positive attitude. Because of your preparation and thorough understanding, because of the incredible support you created for yourself, and because of your own strength, you both have a beautiful, powerful memory. Go you.

Congratulations. I am so happy for you.

Wow! I spend a weekend away from LJ and you go and have a baby!

She is amazingly cute. If she were playing the part of a newborn on TV I wouldn’t believe that anyone could be born with those cheeks. She looks very healthy and not stressed at all.
