I caught my first poop!
I can usually figure out about when she is going to poop. I have a lot more trouble predicting pee though. Thus: well… this carpet is a little less new now. heh.
I need to figure out a better holding position. I need to spend more time figuring out how to clean up afterwards. I need to devise a system for catching oopsies as I’m about to put the diaper back on.
I can handle this. 🙂
Woot! Well done! Since infants pee something like every 10 minutes, catching pees is a bit harder.
Here are some links that may help with positions:

excellent–how do you handle cleaning after?
I’m not sure what part of cleaning up is causing trouble for you…..so if I’m not answering the question let me know.
We have a stack of cloth wipes for at home stuff….originally we had a squirt mix of aloe and water and wet the wipes and then wiped her down……found it wasn’t necessary for pee, so we just wipe with dry cloth for that. For poos, any major mess can be wiped with TP or a cloth wipe, then “deep cleaning” with just water wetted wipe or a little bit of cetaphil wash for extra messy butt.
When we’re out and about it’s TP or flushable unscented wet wipes.
We used the Baby Bjorn potty seat (http://www.target.com/BABYBJ%C3%96RN-Potty-Chair-Blue/dp/B000056J7L) on the most part when we started (around 4 1/2 months), and still use it at night (it’s on a table next to the bed). During the day it’s that or the toilet. Or the nearest patch of grass. (Heheh, dirty hippie mama!)
When she starts taking herself to the potty we’ll have the potty chair on the ground for her to get to. She’s been signalling with the ASL sign a lot lately, so I’m super excited!
The part that is causing trouble is that it is hard to hold her and clean up at the same time since I have to support her head/neck still. But I realized that you wouldn’t have as much experience with that issue so I’ll have to experiment.
cleaning up afterwards
I’d recommend a Bissel brand Little Green Steam Machine.
Or were you not talking about the carpet anymore at that point?

from Debs
hey chicas
i just noticed from your pic gallery that you’ve got the same green diapers as my friend Soph and her baby! She gave me the full run down of how they work and everything, it sounds really cool. Soph also confessed that she tends to use disposables if she knows he’s going to poop, and usually travels with disposables as well. And, since he is 2 1/2, they tend to leak overnight, so that doesn’t work out as much.
fun and games and love

Re: from Debs
We have many different kinds of diapers. I’m not sure which ones I like the best. I don’t like disposables though. 🙂
I’ll try to figure out the time zone difference today and call.
