I don’t spend a lot of time shopping/browsing online. But I hang out in some places where people do. Today the kick was long skirts. So I’m saving the links here. I would like to just casually mention that I have a birthday coming up. 🙂

Ok, sometimes I feel I’m living in a vacuum. A Muslim shop online site… my first thought was “no shit…” then “I like these skirts!” The description are somewhat surreal:
“This is the skirt for the stylish, trend setting sister. A unique skirt with an ultra flared bottom and a braided cloth belt. This skirt makes the statement of style and originality. Wear it for yourself and express your originality from within!” (my italics)
I like the skirts, though I’m into shorter skirts these days. I’m not into the prices. I keep comparing to Goodwill and go through sticker shock 🙁
Yeah, the Muslim online stores have some interesting descriptions.
People always tell me to go to Goodwill and I just don’t have the patience. I would rather get down to having three items of clothing than deal with Goodwill. I hate sorting through a bunch of crap and not finding anything. I’m usually not an average size so I rarely have good luck and it is completely frustrating. But then I feel guilty that I spend more money.
I just lose there. So generally I don’t buy clothes.
That, and even once you find something, it’s worn enough that it doesn’t last very long. I love the idea of Goodwill shopping too, but it doesn’t work out much for me either.
I nearly bought one of the sari wrap dress/skirt/top things when I visited Boston last year. They are beautiful and the kitch stand that was selling them had really persuasive sales girls
