Bio

I am featured (or at least my voice is) in a documentary about Insex that is going to be shown at Slamdance this year. I was asked to submit a bio. This is… interesting. So here’s my first try. Input is welcome (be gentle).

Lenora was always more focused on sex than most people. She dove into the alt-sex community at eighteen and is still happy there almost nine years later. The first four years she was completely immersed in the bdsm community and then she began to wonder if there was life Out There beyond the borders of the scene. She embarked upon a career teaching high school English and had to figure out how to be in the closet. Now she is monogamous (for the first time in her life), married, and adapting to life with a young child. Lenora continues to be obsessed with sex but is still trying to tease out the strands of how life works with all of the different roles she plays.

Assuming that’s about the length they want, it looks pretty good. Except the parenthetical, which isn’t strictly true for some values of “gamy”.

I have never actually managed to be fully monogamous before. I have always had “well they don’t count” experiences. I played non-sexually with two girls while I was pregnant but neither scene counted as anything close to sex.

No really, this is a first for me. Well, I have been mostly fully monogamous for up to nine months before, but that is the longest period. It’s sorta weird. Puppy was the only other person with whom I’ve not bent the rules and that relationship was short.

Does it need more sell? It’s true, but it could zing more. I imagine it’s like ad copy for the film.

    Beneath Lenora’s girl-next-door exterior is …?
