My brain still feels like cotton so I’m not ready to write about the trip. However, I thought I should let ya’ll know that I may or may not fully catch up on lj. If I missed anything that you think I should see, please leave a comment. 🙂

I got engaged.
That is *wonderful*! I am so happy for you!
Thanks 🙂
Congratulations!
I adopted a soldier through http://adoptaussoldier.org/. He’s pretty starved for news from home, so I’m going to mail him a letter and enclose the week’s worth of UC Davis Aggies every week for the duration of his tour in Iraq.
I realized after the fact that I just gave myself one more reason to worry, which wasn’t the brightest of ideas but it seemed like a good one at the time.
H. got a sewing machine from some friends and his making a weeping willow dryad costume for the Vacaville Fantasy Faire in April. I’m pretty impressed.
That’s going to be interesting for you. I bet he will write you occasionally interesting letters and sometimes heartbreaking letters.
Yay her! Maybe she can teach me how to sew. 🙂
I have said nothing of consequence.
But welcome home. **hug**
Fair enough. 🙂 Thanks.
my health issue stuff seems to be stabilizing – I’m getting 30% more air on the new asthma meds so far, have more energy/sleeping better, no migraine/fever things for 3 months or so, and the blood tests and MRI for the Big Scary Stuff have all come back normal 🙂
Also, Jonno should be starting his job next week as a substitute teacher.
ooooh. Wish him luck for me. It’s a hard job.
I’m glad that your health is improving. It’s nice to know that I will continue to know you for years and years. 🙂
fully torn left achilles tendon
snowboarding two weekends ago. Only hurt briefly. Doc says surgery to reattach it went well, incision healing well, may get off the crutches in 2 more weeks if all continues to go well, and full recovery expected, eventually. Meanwhile, borrowing cars because I can’t clutch for another month or so. And need 3-6 months of rehab after I get off the crutches to get back to full health.
Re: fully torn left achilles tendon
Oh crap. 🙁 I’m sorry. I hope that your rehabilitation goes more quickly than anticipated.
Re: fully torn left achilles tendon
Thanks. At least I’m told I can EVENTUALLY expect a full recovery, so it’s just a matter of time, and not a matter of “maybe”. And it’s just a few months, it’s not _such_ a long road, I feel. But everything I’ve read suggests that 3 months of rehab really is the absolute minimum to get back completely with respect to significantly athletic activities, and closer to 6 is more likely. Still, each improvement along the way will be better and more back to normal than before, so I have stuff to look forward to at each point along the way. Once I can shower my leg, amble along without crutches, and drive my own car (all probably in the next month), that covers _most_ stuff, so that’s not so bad, really. At least that’s how I’m looking at it right now.
