I've been waking up at 3am and I can't get back to sleep. This would be worse if I didn't pass out at 8pm. As it is I'm getting some sleep. But my day feels off balance. I'm tired mid-day. I'm ready to be winding down for sleep around dinner. Tired. We are going to go learn about animals today. I feel tired before we leave the house. Needs to happen. Get up. Make food. Ugh.
The more I hear the message "just don't think about _____" the more I want to say, "Why? What are you hiding there?"
It's going to be a festive Thursday. Cheers.
Is your blood sugar keeping fairly level? That’d be one thing that would mess up my sleep patterns.
My blood sugar is probably not level. I eat erratically and exercise heavily.
That may be worth investigation then.
I sleep best when I have three small meals in the earlier part of the day, exercise pretty hard for about an hour, have dinner and spend the evening with Jeff, and when we both go to bed at the same time.
Ugh. With software release deadline around the corner, he’s neither eating nor sleeping nor recreating regularly. So that changes my patterns too.
I hope you’re able to analyze and tweak things so you can come to a more satisfying sleep pattern.

i *despise* waking in the early morning hours.
especially since i don’t go to bed at 8pm.
hold on a second…
in bed at 8 + up at 3 = 7 hours.
what else might one expect?

I read something a while back that talked about how it used to be considered normal to awaken in the middle of the night. Was a very interesting read. Here’s the link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-16964783
