Head is down. The kid is positioned so that their feet are in exactly the same damn spot they were when side ways. Well, this is good… I guess.
Right kidney is barely enlarged. Like, sitting right at the “max” reading and there is slight swelling of the ureter but baaaaaarely. So we need to notify the pediatrician and do a check at about seven days old. It’s not a super emergency.
That’s probably all good news.
My little one had an enlarged kidney, then later a cyst and her kidney was more enlarged. About a week after birth things looked the same, but everything was working as it should be. Then six months later, at the follow up ultrasound, everything was textbook normal. I hope your kiddo has it even easier than Mimi did. <3
Well, little one is riding the top line of normal/barely enlarged. The ultrasound doctor speculated that it could be about trying to pee into a water filled bag–that takes extra force from her little body and maybe she just doesn’t have it to give at this point and peeing in air will be no big deal.
This of course lead to a fun discussion about how EC can’t physically pee WHILE swimming… she’s tried…
