Two things (maybe three)

In our house we have a saying: The secret to happiness is low expectations. Thus Noah is happy with me. 😀 I take it as a personal challenge though and I do my best to go above and beyond to make him happy. So when I went to the store this morning I brought home a breakfast of his favorite things.

From Random

A maple old-fashioned donut, a banana, and yogurt with blackberries and vanilla almond granola. Much tastiness.

And a friend posted a poll asking if people wanted to be sexier or smarter. It made me first think about when essaying told me quite some time ago that it is better to be interesting than pretty because pretty fades and interesting gets better with time. It also made me think about the fact that I have always been more drawn to older women and the sort of more established looks they have. It’s not really a shock to anyone, but my priorities are so different from the mainstream. It was nice thinking about how I am slowly becoming more and more of what I appreciate: older and more interesting. 🙂

Today I need to bust through some reading for the MA then do more Spanish homework. It’s coming back to me more readily than I would have thought. Hopefully that means that I actually learned it way better than I thought. Given that I care a lot about learning this right now it is amazing how different it feels to be taking the class. I’m working my butt off and I’ve never bothered with a language class before. It feels good.

Eek, did I say that? How, um, tedious of me.

Of course that’s easy for me to say, never having had the choice. I believe it’s true, but then again it’s clearly in my best interest to believe it’s true :/

I’m most likely mildly paraphrasing, but I’m very certain I have the gist correct. I was whining about prettiness and you more or less told me to get over it. It was a very reasonable thing to say. 🙂

Wasn’t there also some similar saying that said that the average woman would rather be pretty than smart, because the average man can see better than he can think?

Here’s to the above-average men that are married to my interesting, intelligent, and super sexy friends!!! 🙂
