Looking for grateful

*deep breath*

It was… quite a weekend. Lots of that processing shit, but a few large break throughs which really rocked.

Those of you who told me why you respect/love me–thank you. I keep rereading them and just knowing that you cared enough to respond is so awesome.

I still have the best husband ever. He is so incredibly supportive of my crazy that it just isn’t even funny. I win.

I have an upcoming visit with one of my very favorite Bostonians. YAY! It will be happening right on the heels of… my first ever trip to Vegas. I expect much fun and silliness and amazing as we are seeing Cirque (several shows) and Blue Man Group. 🙂 How is that for a Valentine’s present? 🙂

Stuff is still being hard, but I’m trying really hard to stop and see the wonderful in my life. I really am incredibly lucky.

It’s good to see you emerging from the difficulties you’ve been having lately (and I feel honored that you share how hard you’re working to get through and reach something better.)

*hug* Love and respect to you.

… your Valentine plans sound wonderful.

    Yay for you

Working through shit is hard but you’re doing really well.

I like Vegas! Blue Man Group is a lot of fun. While you’re there, if you like roller coasters, there are also a couple of good ones there; I like the one at New York New York and the one at Alladin; the rides at the top of the Stratosphere are a waste of time, though, unless they’ve changed in the past year or two. And why is it that, at “gentlemen’s clubs”, which Vegas is known to have one or two of, women usually have more fun than men?

        Re: Yay for you

The coaster at Aladdin has a NASCAR theme and uses electromagnets to accelerate the train rather than a chain to the top of a drop like a regular coaster, and because of this, it is able to start the ride at the _bottom_, shooting you directly into a loop. It is very cool.

Cheetah’s is the club with the highest “chic”. Everyone is very pretty, but it can be a little… snooty, at least the one time I was there. But I see enough naked people, without having to tip them, that it’s actually not my scene so much, and I don’t really have any other info on this.

Oh, also recommended is Ruth’s Chris Steak House, if you like that sort of thing, as I do. There’s one in SF, too, on Van Ness, but how often do you go to SF for dinner? In Vegas there are two locations; the one on Paradise is nicer than the one on Flamingo, and easier to get to, the other one is across Hwy 15 from the Strip.

There’s a Vegas Munch, too, last time I was there it was on Fridays, but it was cliquey and political just like many Munches, and not really anything to write home about. And oddly, you’d think, there wasn’t much else in that scene that I could find, like clubs or parties of that nature and such.

And even coming from a lifelong Trekkie such as myself, the Star Trek Experience can be skipped. Nerds can find something more interesting touring Hoover Dam.

Did I mention that I like Las Vegas?

How long are you going for? Let me know what you did and how much fun you had and how much cash you lost. 🙂
