My mom asked me for a Christmas list…

http://www.eddiebauer.com/eb/product.asp?cm_cg=T307&product_id=27198&.rand=438F8E8035761E7F (Also known as flannel lined jeans from Eddie Bauer, size 10.) My 12’s can be pulled off with the button fastened.

Button up sweaters in a variety of colors: red, black, pink, grey, and brown. Those colors are the mainstays of my wardrobe. Size medium

I need a good coat of wool or leather. My muppet coat is just not cutting it for all occasions. Problem is I’m not sure what size–either 10 or 12 cause of the boobs. I like pea coats a LOT. Black/grey.

Votive candles in any color/scent.

A good back pack. Not oversized–just regular sized.

A sleeping bag. If I knew more about them I would know what temp I want to get down to…

Cool socks. I like funky/stripey/decorated/whatever knee socks are AWESOME. No toe socks.

A sewing machine. 🙂

Interesting yarn and/or needles of a variety of sizes.

I need other things, but I have to be there for the purchasing: bras (seems I should be buying a 34DD ew), jeans (most of the time I need a 10, but I’m awfully picky about how they fit–my meaty thighs and all)

uhm…. I can’t think of anything else right now. I may update this later.

My 12’s can be pulled off with the button fastened.

Some people might consider this a feature. :-).

    A sleeping bag.

I recently shopped for and purchased a couple new ones. I can probably help you figure out your temp range. Other important features are washability, portability, weight, and whether you ever expect to share it.

Important questions are… are you ever sleeping outside? Or mostly indoor with it? If outside, ever outside in winter or up a mountain? Do you expect to be in a tent? Are you more interested in being warm in the winter or comfy, (not hot), in the summer? Note that lighter bags can have bits added to make them warmer, but it’s generally cheaper, lighter, and more portable to just have two bags – one for spring/summer/fall, and one for winter. Only the cheapest summer bags can be thrown casually in the washer. But there are washable removable liners available for most bags. Some people love them, some hate them. *shrug*

More questions to consider: Do you get cold easily and do you have to plan on sharing the bag with someone else?

They definitely make bags that “play well with others” – that can be zipped together to make a larger bag, but that’s another consideration to, um, consider.

It is unprofessional for my pants to fall off. 😛

I would like to be able to do back packing in winter. Probably not like Antartica winter, but rather cold. Yes, up mountains and probably in a tent. This isn’t a summer worry.

Something to consider: down or synthetic?

Down is warmer but is less durable and more expensive. It also makes for poor insulation when wet. It is lighter than synthetics.

I’m a fan of synthetic but I recommend you check them both out to figure out which is right for you.

REI Outlet currently has some good deals on both types of bags. I’m trying not to buy one for myself.

Yeah, I think the toe socks are over rated the only toe socks I like are the feelmax ones. That company did some serious toe sock engineering before they created their socks.
