I have awful awful awful kids today. They are screaming at me and telling me off and being nasty little bastards. I want to cry. It is hard not to take this kind of vitriol personally.

I truly wish you were correct Lolita, but at least for today… you weren’t. One kid did get punished. He was escorted to the office for his unacceptable behavior. Then about 15 minutes later another kid got up in my face (this is a boy who is just slightly bigger than me) and screamed (I do mean screamed) about how I was trying to destroy his chances in life. I had asked him to sit in his own seat and do his own work rather than copy off someone else. Yes, I am destroying his life. About 20 minutes later I stepped bodily between two boys as a fist fight was getting going. That was one of the scariest things I have done so far while teaching. The two vice principals spent the rest of the day trading shifts in my classroom. I had two more boys taken out of class for being disrespectful to the vice principals. I had some of the nastiest little bitches I have ever dealt with. Most of the work did technically get done, but at the expense of my sanity.

I would not be able to do a class load like that day-in-day-out. I would go insane. At the very least I would swear in class out of frustration and that isn’t ok. This was a very very hard day.

I say eviscerate one of them, and see if the rest continue to complain. Display the decaying corpse for the rest to see, with a constant reminder of what happens if they misbehave :-).

Introduce them to bondage and S&M. It’ll keep them quiet and obedient and it may even spice up their future sex lives!

If that’s not enough, threaten to invite a clown with a criminal record to “entertain” them…
