What do I complain about? Two doctors having different opinions?
“I came in looking for a physical explanation for my pain. I am already receiving the psychological help I need from outside this health system. I request that these physicians rule out physical causes for the pain I experience. Have you ruled out physical causes? “
I’m thinking maybe you need to start carrying something like a business card to medical appts. Something that says “I am currently receiving treatment from a mental health professional. The subject of my mental health is not on the table during today’s appointment.” Present the doctor with the card when they first walk in and refer them back to it whenever necessary.
